Beachside Blues: If you like psychedelic, funk, and classic Blues, get ready for a good time! Hosted by Vince Converse & Big Brother this modern, rock-fueled joyride will deliver the goods. From jaw-dropping guitar riffs to finely tuned rhythmic harmonies, genius bass bangers, horn solos, percussion parties, and keyboard runs, this show is inspired by, and infused with the sounds of Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, The Allman Brothers, and Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac). But don't worry, there is plenty of big, classic Blues a-la-BB King, Keb Mo, and more.

  • This show is a funky, rock-driven, soul-filled jam experience! Vince Converse, an original Texas blues man, is hosting the evening with fellow Denver all-stars including Lionel Young and Anthony Russo. Get ready for some wicked guitar solos.

  • Vince Converse is a professional blues and funk fusion guitar player living in Denver, Colorado. Wowing audiences with his soul-reaching solos and gritty, low vocals, Vince is a one-of-a-kind bluesman. Having played with some of the greats across the globe, Vince is still dropping jaws, delivering top-rate entertainment with his bands: Vince Converse and Big Brother and The Rick Lewis Project. His new album, Vince Converse and Friends (2023), is a rock-infused, classic blues collaboration that will leave you wanting more.

  • A classically trained musician, Lionel Young draws on traditional blues as well as jazz, funk and soul. He is fluent on the violin and guitar and is one of Denver’s Blues elite. In 1988, as part of the National Repertory Orchestra, he formed a blues and bluegrass band that played a series of concerts in Japan, Taiwan and Korea including playing at the closing ceremonies for the Seoul Olympics. Lionel won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2008 in the solo/duo division and again with his band in 2011. His cd, “On Our Way to Memphis,” showcases his adaptability.

  • Ron Aprea Jr. is a jazz saxophonist whose music is characterized by his soulful and expressive playing, which draws from a variety of jazz styles, including bebop, swing, and Latin jazz. In addition to his solo work, Aprea has collaborated with several other musicians and bands, including the Buddy Rich Band and the Stan Kenton Orchestra. He has also released several albums, including "Mambo Nights," "Live at 54 Below," and "Let's Go!"

  • Michael and Sarah Hornbuckle are a husband and wife blues duo based in Denver. Michael is a gifted guitarist and vocalist, while Sarah provides powerful songwriting and spectacular vocals.

    If on-site parking is full, we offer a free shuttle to and from nearby Cherry Creek High School.

    Absolutely no outside food or beverages allowed.

  • Live at the Lake™ is a weekly lakeside concert series at Pelican Bay, in the heart of Cherry Creek State Park. This one-of-a-kind Denver, Colorado venue has a "beachfront" stage, pub meals, and a full-service bar with specialty cocktails. Guests can kick off their shoes, dance in the sand, or simply enjoy a variety of musical genres, including rock, pop, country, and blues. This event is family-friendly and open to the public.
